Story

«Blooming Orchids» (working title) explores the outdoor garden of an administrative detention centre under construction near Geneva airport, dedicated to the examination of asylum applications. The film highlights the site’s ornamental strategy, where the aesthetics of the garden contrast with the centre’s repressive function. Through audio interviews, it explores this reconstructed space, revealing the tensions between the architects’ idealised vision and the reality of a dehumanising system.
