Joël Jent
Joël Jent grew up in Toggenburg (Switzerland) and studied political science, philosophy, film studies and social/economic history at the University of Zurich from 2004 to 2010. After graduating, Joël Jent worked briefly as a journalist. Since 2003, he has produced several projects involving shorts, documentaries and feature films, some of which he directed and wrote himself. He produced Samir’s award-winning films “Baghdad in my Shadow” and the 3-D documentary “Iraqi Odyssey”, as well as the 2017 and 2018 Academy Awards® shortlisted shorts “Bon Voyage” and “Facing Mecca” (2017 Student Academy Award winner). His book “Stanislawski und Film” was published in 2014. Joël Jent has taught at Zurich University of the Arts since 2017 and is a member of the European and Swiss Film Academies. A proud father (he has a son), he works as an independent screenwriter and filmmaker.
