Nicole Borgeat

Nicole Borgeat, born in Switzerland, is a director, screenwriter, and playwright. After studying directing at INSAS (Brussels), she worked as a production and directing assistant. She then embarked on an eclectic and varied career path, moving from cinema to theater and television. She has written and directed comedies, but also staged performances and complex theatrical works, which have been widely shown on European stages. Among the comedies she has written and directed is “Demain j’arrête” (2003), a short film about addictions whose biting humor was awarded at the Locarno Festival and earned her a nomination for the Swiss Film Award. Also included is the TV film “Sauvons les apparences” (2008), awarded at the Cinéma Tout Écran festival, and “Boomerang” (2018), nominated for the Audience Award at the 53rd Solothurn Film Festival, selected for the Vienna Francophone Film Festival, and honored with the prestigious Civis Prize for Integration.
She recently directed “Délits mineurs,” a dramatic and realistic series of 6 x 52 minutes, co-written with Jacqueline Surchat, which describes the workings of juvenile justice. This thriller, which plunges three women into the heart of judicial and human dilemmas, has been acquired by numerous countries (France, Spain, USA, Australia).
