Their paths now cross in a women’s shelter somewhere in Switzerland. In the no-man’s land between the end and a new beginningthe women slowly regain an idea of inner and outer security.

DEVELOPMENT SINCE SUPPORT ON LEVEL I

In stage 1, I did intensive research in women’s shelters. Safety aspects were clarified with specialist agencies and psychosocial services. For reasons of protection, I decided to have the protagonists played by actresses. Stage 2 involves writing the script with in-depth research and workshops with protagonists and actresses.

Story

8 BIS 18 accompanies a family with two sons for ten years. This coming-of-age documentary shows how Caspar (6) and Philipp (8) are growing up. Philipp knows instinctively that he is a boy although his body has female features. Caspar feels comfortable with his assigned gender. An intimate film about parenting and growing up in the 2020s.

DEVELOPMENT SINCE SUPPORT ON LEVEL I

We developed a series format. The focus of the story is the interweaving of family, society, zeitgeist and trans identity and not just the person going through the transition process. Existing material was viewed and tried out in rough cuts. Sparring in the areas: dramaturgy, dealing with the public, psychological development.

Screenplay: Céline Carridroit And Aline Suter
Production company: Aurélien Marsais (Earthling Productions)

DEVELOPMENT SINCE SUPPORT ON LEVEL I
