Kick-off event with the Story Lab projects

Impressions from Solothurn, SO PRO kick-off event on January 19, 2024, Solothurn City Theater

How is artificial intelligence changing material development in the film and games industry? Will human scriptwriting skills become obsolete in the near future? We explored these hotly debated questions at the launch of SO PRO – sometimes seriously, sometimes humorously.

The Migros Culture Percentage Story Lab presented the projects funded in the consolidation phase. The directors, producers, authors, and game designers pitched their projects and talked to moderator Monika Schärer about what they are currently working on and the issues that concern them. The director and satirist Karpi then gave an exciting presentation on how AI would deal with the challenges of Story Lab projects.

These topics then informed lively, in-depth discussions at the subsequent networking lunch in the foyer of the Solothurn City Theater, where many new contacts were made.

Main partner of the “SO PRO” program of the 59th Solothurn Film Festival

The Migros Culture Percentage Story Lab is the main program partner of SO PRO. With a newly launched program, the Solothurn Film Days is strengthening its role as a center of excellence for Swiss film. From Friday to Sunday, January 19 to 21, 2024, the Solothurn City Theater became an industry hub. Pitching sessions, labs, panel discussions, and workshops were offered alongside selected thematic debates, open to the public. The program was aimed at  students and filmmakers from technical professions well as established filmmakers.
