Mario von Rickenbach

Mario von Rickenbach (1987) is a Swiss game designer and developer. As he is more interested in dynamics than statics, he dropped out of his architecture degree to study game design instead. Since graduating from the Zurich University of the Arts, he has worked with other designers, artists and filmmakers. These collaborations have resulted in various interactive works, including the award-winning projects KIDS and Plug & Play. He is co-founder of the game studio Playables, which develops and publishes playful projects at the interface of animation and games. He teaches interactive design as a guest lecturer at the Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL). His award-winning works have been exhibited worldwide, including at the ZKM Centre for Art and Media (Karlsruhe), the Nam June Paik Art Center (Yongin), the Triennale di Milano, the Shenzhen New Media Art Festival and the Mori Art Museum (Tokyo).
