Sylvain Gardel
Sylvain Gardel (*1972, Lausanne) is an expert in the creative pop music industry, interactive medias and design, with more than 25 years of experience. Gardel has an MAS in Arts Management from the University of Basel and worked at Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia from 2009 to 2022, where he developed and was responsible for the promotion of SwissGames’ studios and young designers. Until 2016, he also headed programmes at the foundation designed to promote areas such as cultural diversity, cultural mediation and digital creation.
His first experiences with digital content and the internet stretch back to the start of the 1990s, when he helped to develop Schweizerische Clubnetzwerk in his role as programme head of KiFF in Aarau and began to stream live concerts. In 2008, he led the symposium “Imaging The Future” at the NIFFF Film Festival in Neuchâtel, putting his own spin on it. He has also worked for a variety of museums in the areas of research, fundraising and volunteering, including as an expert for the cultural mediation department of the canton of Aarau from 2014 to 2021.
